Matthew Mannion, Bass-Baritone, is a multifaceted and talented young artist based in Dublin, Ireland. His recent accomplishments include Guglielmo in Opera in the Open’s Così fan tutte, Father Owl in Ballaghaderreen Arts Festivals The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark, and his Swiss debut singing Un Chasseur in Rossini’s Guillaume Tell With Nouvel Opéra Fribourg.
In the 25-26 season Matthew will sing with Irish National Opera in their company chorus, sing the role of Uncle Yakisudé in their production of Madama Butterfly and the ‘Outlaw’ in The Bartered Bride. He is also performing the role of Yeats/Shouter 5/ the judge in Alberto Caruso’s Lady Gregory in America with the Wild Swan Theatre Company.
As well as being an active performer Matthew is also very passionate about teaching and pedagogy. He currently teaches in Dublin City University, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the Dublin School of Music, as well as maintaining a private studio. Matthew has multiple years of teaching experience and is always adapting and growing with every student he works with.
